This consultation has concluded.

Council has been busy listening to your vision and aspirations for Byron Shire. Did we hear you right?

Byron Shire Council is in the process of developing its long term Community Strategic Plan (CSP) "linking together our people, our place, our purpose - Byron Shire 2022".

We have collated your input from consultation undertaken during the past 12 months to develop the draft Byron Shire Council Community Strategic Plan. This draft document outlines our long-term community vision and plan for Byron Shire including:

  • our vision for "culturally rich and thriving communities living in harmony, responding positively to the challenges of our world, and leading by example"
  • five key goals to guide our Shire for the next 10 years
  • 17 community outcomes to be achieved over the next 10 years; and
  • proposed strategies and partnerships to assist us in moving towards our future goals for the Shire.

Continue your involvement by giving us your feedback on the draft Plan. Please take time to read the draft Byron Shire Council Community Strategic Plan, make a written submission, join the discussions below, participate in our quick polls, and complete the online survey to go into the draw to win an Apple iPad2.

Your input is important and will assist Council to finalise the draft CSP.  We need your feedback by Thursday 10 November 2011.

All feedback and surveys will be considered by Council in December 2011.

You told us the renewal and maintenance of existing infrastructure, and planning for new infrastructure,  was important.  What do you believe should be the top two infrastructure priorities in Byron Shire? Your top two projects could include:

  • the renewal of a community infrastructure asset (eg road, building, drainage, STP, sporting field, park, town landscaping, waste management, water and sewerage)
  • a new community infrastructure asset
  • increased maintenance of a community infrastructure asset
